Jim Campbell, FNP-C is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and recently finished his post graduate certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Alabama. He received his Associates of Science in Nursing from Darton State College in Sandersville, Georgia before earning his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) as well as Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) from South University in Savannah, Georgia. He specializes in treating all mental health conditions, including comorbid mental health disorders, of children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations.
Jim’s passion for mental health began during a 15 year career as a paramedic where he experienced patients during their most vulnerable and emergent conditions. This passion continued to grow as a registered nurse in multiple emergency rooms where he would care for patients experiencing mental health crisis, while recognizing the disparity mental health patients faced. During his time as a FNP in family practice/urgent care, he had the opportunity to care for patients in need of mental health treatment, which further fueled his passion and desire to better serve this population, ultimately leading to a post graduate certification in mental health and joining the team at DPS.
In his free time, Jim enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife Rachelle, and their 4 children. He is an avid outdoorsman and loves hunting and fishing. He is a huge sports enthusiast and lives for Georgia Bulldog football and Atlanta Braves baseball. Jim is also an animal lover and enjoys raising and showing German Shorthaired Pointers as a hobby, with his GSP Journey being the true definition of man’s best friend.
