Biography
Holly Hollis, EdD, APRN, PMHNP-BC is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Her experience is in delivering holistic centered care to patients of all ages. She received both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), as well as post Master’s degree, from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia. She also received her educational doctorate, (E.d.D) from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Beyond her clinical work with dual diagnosis patients, she has also served as a preceptor to nursing students from both Georgia Southern University, and Georgia College and State University. She specializes in treating all mental health conditions, including comorbid mental health disorders, of children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations. She is licensed to practice nursing in New York, Texas, and South Carolina, as well as in Georgia.
In 2018, she relocated from the central Georgia area to Savannah, Georgia, where she currently resides. In addition to working full time for DPS, she also currently works for a long term residential facility and treats the geriatric population for chronic mental illness, including dementia and organic brain disorders. She has close relationships with both of her parents, and currently have two dogs in which she spends a great deal of time with; they are her babies. She enjoys reading a great book, walking on the beach, and also loves to travel. Mental health became her passion in 2013, when her beloved younger sister lost her life to suicide. It was at that moment, she decided that she would bring something positive from that experience, and she has since dedicated her career to lowering the stigma associated with mental illness, as well as trying to make a difference in each and every person’s life that she is blessed in meeting and interacting with. She truly loves being a mental health provider and is so grateful in having a career that allows her to meet wonderful people, while lending her expertise in helping them reach their full potential in life.
